Description

Product Tracking and Reporting (PTR) is the database that stores tracking scan data for all barcoded packages and extra services products. The scan events take place from acceptance all the way to delivery. The tracking information comes from business mailer's files, handheld scanners, retail equipment, mail processing equipment, and several other Postal systems. PTR also sends payment information to the Electronic Verification System (eVS) and the Electronic Marketing Reporting System (EMRS). Signature images are also available for applicable products. Extract files are sent to business customers to supply them with tracking events. The USPS Tracking™ website is also available to individual customers to check the delivery status of their items and request proof of delivery or e-mail notification, when applicable.
