Informed Delivery®

The U.S. Postal Service® is enhancing the mail experience with Informed Delivery®, a free and optional notification service that gives eligible residential consumers the ability to digital preview their letter-sized mail pieces and manage their packages scheduled to arrive soon.

Informed Delivery® offers mailers the opportunity to engage users through an integrated mail and digital marketing campaign that generates additional consumer impressions, interactions, and insights.

Participating mailers can provide supplemental content, allowing users to take immediate action on a mailpiece. The United States Postal Service (USPS®) currently offers the basic campaign functionality for no additional fee. Monetization opportunities for additional features are under consideration.

  New features to the Daily Digest. 
  Added New Section to Digest for Packages Awaiting Sender. A new section to Daily Digest for labels that have been created but have not yet been received and accepted by USPS. Once received by USPS, these packages will move from the Awaiting Sender section to the Expected Soon and Expected Today sections. 
  Add First Name to Daily Digest Header. Add First Name greeting to the top of the Daily Digest (e.g., “Hi, Jane”). The Daily Digest will begin to include the First Name of a user at the top of the email.
Note: Informed Delivery does not send more than one email for a given ZIP11 and email address. If there are several accounts at the same ZIP11 and email address, the First Name will be that of one of the users. It is possible in this case for the First Name to change from a day-to-day basis as names for different accounts are used for that day.

  Updates to the Mail Delivery Notification feature.  
  Automate MDN Unsubscribe. Users should be able to  unsubscribe from receiving mail delivery notification emails upon clicking on the unsubscribe button.  They should no longer receive these notifications.
  Updated the MDN emai template. MDN Email template was updated to use new format.  Additionally, updates were made for various formatting changes and copy updates to the MDN survey . 
  Updated the Consumer Portal Settings. The Consumer Portal Settings page was updated to remove the USPS Profile Hyperlink in the MDN informational text and to include a PO Box Disclaimer for MDN. Users should see a disclaimer for PO Box’s regarding mail delivery notifications.  Users should not see the USPS profile hyper link in the MDN informational text on the Settings page in Consumer Portal.
4/25/2024 ID DD Smart Parcel Locker

  New ID Daily Digest feature offering visibility  for packages destined to USPS Smart Lockers.
  Made updates needed to present special messaging in the Daily Digest for packages that are destined to a parcel locker. Informed Delivery will use the email address associated with parcel locker packages to associate the package to any eligible Informed Delivery users.
  Once matched, the parcel locker package will display in the Digest with special “Delivery to USPS Smart Locker” messaging until the package is delivered. 
  Once delivered, the package will display in the Digest with “Available for pickup” messaging along with post office information and a QR code that the user can use to pick up the package.

Users will see informational text in the ID Settings Page for Package notifications that tells them they are auto enrolled for Expected Delivery Updates unless they manually opt-out. Users should be able to manually opt out of the Expected Delivery Update Email notifications in their Settings Page.

  MCP Template Defect.
Update Templates Page To Display Ridealong and Representative Images Correctly. The Mailer Campaign Portal Templates page has a defect where the representative and ridealong images are switched with each other and therefore displayed incorrectly on the webpage. This defect has been fixed so that the images are displayed next to their respective headers. 
  Duplicate IMBs on the ID Daily Digest.
Fixed defect to ensure the same mailpiece does not appear in the same Digest email more than once.
1/27/2024 ID Fraud Packages Release R24.1.3   Fraud and Package Release.
  Updated the Email Notifications to Display Messaging in Digest For Fraudulent Packages in Dropbox.These packages will be displayed with certain special rules:
     a)  A fraudulent or seized package will not be displayed with a package campaign.
     b) A fraudulent or seized package can be displayed in the Arriving Soon section even if the package does not have a Delivery Date.

  Expansion of existing Mail Delivery Notification feature. 
  Informed Delivery implemented a feature that will allow users to be notified when their mail has arrived at their delivery point. 
  The notification will be an email that a user receives letting them know their mail has been delivered.  
  The user can then indicate through a mail delivery notification survey within the email whether they received their mail before the notification, upon receiving the notification, or after the notification.
