Informed Delivery API (Application Programming Interface)
This page contains information on the ID (Informed Delivery) API, which is an Application Programming Interface available for use by external integrators to integrate directly with the Informed Delivery application. The ID API provides Mailers and Shippers with the ability to integrate directly with the Informed Delivery application so they can manage interactive Informed Delivery campaigns for both Mail and Packages through their on front-end application.
The Informed Delivery API can be accessed with Business Customer Gateway (BCG) credentials that have been granted access to the ID API.
If interested in using the Informed Delivery API, please contact USPSInformedDeliveryAPI@usps.gov to request an onboarding session. Access to the Informed Delivery API will be granted once the onboarding has taken place and testing has been successfully completed in the CAT (Customer Acceptance Testing) environment.
Mailers and Shippers interested in using API integration for Informed Delivery Campaign Management
The Informed Delivery API provides shippers and mailers with the ability to integrate directly with the Informed Delivery application, which allows for more automated management of Informed Delivery campaigns.
Integrators can build in-house, front-end solutions that integrate directly with the ID API. This allows integrators to build solutions that are customized to meet their clients needs.
