Informed Visibility® Mail Tracking & Reporting (IV®-MTR)

Informed Visibility Mail Tracking & Reporting (IV-MTR) is a near real-time, single source for all mail and mail aggregate tracking information.

Who is IV-MTR for?

Commercial mailers who are tracking barcoded letters, flats, bundles, handling units (trays, tubs, and sacks), and containers

IV-MTR provides the mailing industry with powerful insight into the Postal mailstream. The application:

  • Provides near real-time mail tracking data for letters and flats
  • Leverages the intelligence of Full-Service Intelligent Mail® and nesting associations to create assumed handling events
  • Offers logical handling events, such as logical delivery events, based on business rules
  • Provides multiple data file formats and delivery methods
  • Enables roles and permissions management to determine a user's application functionality and data visibility
  • Offers flexible data delegation to receive and provide data visibility

With IV-MTR, the mailing industry can leverage key information about their mailings to manage operations, refine processes, and adjust marketing campaigns as needed.

  • API providing aggregated Pieces Delivered counts by delivery state, ZIP3, and ZIP5
  • ESRI map for Pieces Delivered
  • API providing aggregated Expected, Accepted, In Processing/Processed, and Delivered counts for containers, trays, and pieces

  • Ability to create a single Mail Quality Data feed for multiple CRIDS
  • Suppress Operation Code 873 (Appointment Arrival) provisioning of container assumed events for Mail.XML
  • Mail Object Navigator fix to display all entries when drilling to the Handling Unit Detail screen
  • Vote-by-Mail (formerly Ballot Tracking) specifications for key code generation restricting certain characters easily confused
  • Enhancements to ensure smooth data transmission through USPS network; Data Transfer Service operations will contact IV-MTR Business Service Administrator for any file transmission failures if associated address book contact(s) cannot be reached.
Future Enhancements
  • API providing aggregated counts by Mail Phase for containers, trays, and pieces
  • Operational Status indicator for pieces to show impacts due to operational events, weather, holds, and redirects
  • Ability to receive Informed Delivery campaign reports
  • Enhanced tracking for certified and Special Services IMpb barcodes
  • Manual Bullpen Visibility to close the gap on flat mailpieces worked in a manual operation
  • Exchange of breadcrumb data with mailer transported volume to IV to determine moment of arrival
  • Service Measurement Indicator for pieces to provide exclusion reasons
  • Ability to receive IMpb Compliance reports

Enterprise Payment System

All eligible products must migrate from CAPS to EPS effective April 1, 2019. All new accounts must be established through EPS effective October 1, 2018.

Mail Quality Data through IV®-MTR

Mail Quality Data (MQD-IV) leverages the Informed Visibility® Mail Tracking & Reporting (IV-MTR) application to enable mailers to receive uncapped Mail Quality Data. Detailed error data from the Mailer Scorecard is available for Full Service, Move Update, eInduction, and Seamless Acceptance.
