Informed Visibility Mail Tracking & Reporting (IV-MTR) is a near real-time, single source for all mail and mail aggregate tracking information.

Who is IV-MTR for?

Commercial mailers who are tracking barcoded letters, flats, bundles, handling units (trays, tubs, and sacks), and containers

IV-MTR provides the mailing industry with powerful insight into the Postal mailstream. The application:

  • Provides near real-time mail tracking data for letters and flats
  • Leverages the intelligence of Full-Service Intelligent Mail® and nesting associations to create assumed handling events
  • Offers logical handling events, such as logical delivery events, based on business rules
  • Provides multiple data file formats and delivery methods
  • Enables roles and permissions management to determine a user's application functionality and data visibility
  • Offers flexible data delegation to receive and provide data visibility

With IV-MTR, the mailing industry can leverage key information about their mailings to manage operations, refine processes, and adjust marketing campaigns as needed.

  • Anticipated Delivery Date (ADD) as an attribute for pieces
  • Piece-level data available in one-time queries for download or send to address
  • Filter in piece-level one-time queries for Tracing or non-Tracing IMb STIDs

October 1, 2018

  • Release 1 of IV-MTR Mobile APIs Piece Barcode Lookup
  • Release 1 of IV-MTR Administrative APIs
October 6, 2018
  • Ability to create data feeds to receive data for routing codes with Tracing and non-Tracing IMb STIDs
  • FAST appointment data attributes available to provide information regarding induction appointments
  • Access to BlueTube videos and other resources without needing to log into the application
  • Data retention period extended from 45 to 120 days
  • Support of all election mail STIDs for return mail through data feeds and one-time queries
November 15, 2018
  • Release 2 of the IV-MTR API, which will provide the following functionality:
    • Create/update a data feed
    • Export the File History for a data feed
    • Resend a file from a data feed
    • Export a list of servers in the address book
    • Get container attributes and scans based on IMcb
    • Get handling unit attributes and scans based on IMtb
December 14, 2018
  • Release 3 of the IV-MTR API -- aggregated Piece Delivered counts by delivery state, ZIP3, and ZIP5
Future Enhancements
  • Start-the-Clock Mail.XML push and pull messages
  • Enhanced Predicted Delivery Date (PDD) for non-finalized operations
  • Operational Status field for pieces to show impacts due to operational or weather events
  • Ability to set up data feeds for Enterprise Payment System (EPS) and Package Platform Concept (PPC)
  • Ability to receive Informed Delivery reports
  • Special services and IMpb barcode format data field as an attribute for pieces
  • Manual Bullpen Visibility
